Diamond Metals is cutting all its steel on the most technologically advanced sawing equipment available today. This results in cleaner cut surfaces and blocks that are as close to square as a saw can acheive. With this steel cutting capability, we can consistently produce tool steel blocks that are .100 - .125 oversize on the saw cut sides thereby eliminating the heavy removal of unwanted excess material. The result is less machine time required by the customer to "clean up" blocks and a reduction in steel costs through lower invoice weights.

Diamond Metals also deburrs all its blocks before they leave the facility. This accomplishes two objectives: First, it protects the die maker’s hands from getting cut during the handling of the blocks. Second, the deburred blocks will fit flush in the die maker’s vice and save him time in the clean-up process.

Diamond Metals uses a square gage on all steel blocks after they have been deburred to ensure they will "clean up" to size and achieve our quality standards. This procedure should eliminate any blocks being returned or re-cut because they have not "cleaned up" to size and therefore greatly reduce the potential for unneccesary and costly customer down-time.

One of Diamond Metals featured services is pre-squared blocks. The "Diamond Cut" is a block squared on six sides to .015 - .020 over the dimensions on the customer’s bill of materials. We also offer the "square cut", which is a block with the thickness and the width milled to .015 - .020 over the customer’s specified dimensions. Please note, the tolerances may vary on larger blocks.

Diamond Metals offers Same Day service. We recognize that when a purchase order is given to our customers, one of the first materials they need is tool steel. Also, if a stamping die crashes and production is stopped our customer cannot afford to wait on materials. For these reasons we have made Same Day delivery our standard for small and emergency orders. When an emergency purchase order is received, we have the flexibility to have your metal ready for will call or shipment within a short period of time. There is no additional charge for emergency orders.
